Organizational systems reduce stress.

With a system, everything has a home and you know where things are. No more hunting for keys, thinking about how to put the laundry away, or feeling anxiety about the hidden piles that are ready to spill out of the closets.

Moving to a new home – or moving back into a renovated space – is a great time to clean out, pare down, and create systems that make life easier. Last weekend I was in San Diego to help a young couple who had just moved into a home together two weeks earlier. Between the move and their jobs, they didn’t have much of a chance to organize things before Spirit & Space hit the ground. They were great to work with; they sorted through items, let go of things they no longer needed, and readily answered all my questions about how they use their space and what items are most important in their daily routines. We made a good team.

What a joy it was for me to help them create sustainable organizing solutions, and to see how much pleasure they took in creating their home together. From a pantry that allows them to take advantage of deep cabinets, to dozens of spices organized for easy access…from a gracious guest room closet with extra storage, to a main closet that allows them to access their wardrobes easily…we created organized spaces that will ease their daily routines and bring them joy. The day after I returned home she texted: “As much as we love the kitchen, I think our closet might bring us the most joy! We both have found ourselves peeking into it throughout the day just because.” You won’t believe the transformation in that closet! Check it out at www.spiritandspacellc.com/before-after.
